Sardar Sobha Singh award to be revived again

Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister announced revival of Sardar Sobha Singh Awards in the name of world renowned painter and spot painting competition in elaborated form would be organized on the birthday of Sardsar Shobha Singh falling in the month of November. He said that State Government had instituted such awards during its earlier tenure which were discontinued by the previous Government due to the reasons best known to them. He said that such awards would motivate the young and budding artists to exhibit their talent through the painting competition and would be a step towards promotion of artistic pursuits. He said that Sardar Shobha Singh had settled at Andreta near Palampur for whole of his life although he hailed from Punjab State.

Prof. Dhumal inaugurated the Dainik Bhaskar Summer Shopping Festival at Palampur today and congratulated the newspaper for launching such unique festival by any newspaper which were instrumental in meeting the requirement of modern age of information.

Chief Minister said that State was committed to protect the interests of the craftsman and small traders by providing them every opportunity to generate income and educate the people about the modern marketing trends. He said that employment generation was on the top agenda of the State Government and every policy and programme was directed towards generating employment and self employment avenues to the unemployed youth. He said that such events also help in exchanging the craftsmanship amongst the rural artisans so that they could also adopt the new craft trends and add the same to their income generation. He said that exhibitions were instrumental in updating the customs about the latest marketing trends.

Prof. Dhumal said that modern age was of IT, BT, Communicating skills and mutual cooperation to usher into desired results of elaboration of business and allied activities.

Prof. Dhumal said that State would emerge a centre of artistic pursuits by giving added preference to the artistic and other related activities. He was honoured by the artists with their creatures hailing from different parts of the country.

Shri Sushil Datta, General Manager, Dainik Bhaskar welcomed the Chief Minister and congratulated him for resounding victory in recently concluded Hamirpur Parliamentary by-election. He counted the services of the newspaper being made available to the people. He said that the daily would soon be printed from within the State soon and added that such summer festivals would be organized in other parts of the State.
