Smt. Manisha Nanda, Chief Electoral Officer said here today that total 1172944 electors will cast their vote for the Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency bye-election from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m tomorrow. It includes 1149329 general electors, 23615 service electors and 307 electors above the age of 100 years, she added.
She said that out of total electors, 588149 are male electors and 584795 are female electors. She said that total 1373 polling station has been set up in the 17 Assembly segments of Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency which, includes one auxiliary polling station of Gagret (SC) segment. Una(Gen.) assembly segments has maximum number of 96 polling stations, she added.
Smt. Nanda said that elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful, free, fair and transparent elections. She said that 1611 Electronic Voting Machines has been provided for the polling stations, which includes reserve and two EVMs has been provided in each remote polling station
She said that 168 buses, 178 jeep cars and 14 trucks has been deployed to ensure smooth transportation of election related man and material. She said that 119 Sector Officers and 32 Sector Magistrates have been deputed for election duty.
She said that 179 polling stations has been declared as hyper sensitive, 303 as sensitive polling stations, rest of 891 polling stations are of ordinary nature.
She said that total No. of EVMs to be used will be 1373 besides this sufficient no. of EVMs have been kept as reserve to cater to remote areas with sector officer/Magistrate and with ARO's to meet any eventuality.
