Himachal health minister holds talks with Swami Ramdev

A team of the representatives of State Government headed by Dr. Rajiv Bindal, Health Minister met Swami Ramdev Jee, founder of Patanjali Yog Peeth at Haridwar today to discuss the possibilities of setting up of a centre of the Peeth in Himachal Pradesh besides the interest of the peeth in the available herbal potential of the State for manufacturing medicines. The high level meeting was one in the series of meetings earlier held with Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister and Swami Ramdev Jee at Bilaspur last month.
Dr. Rajiv Bindal said that earlier , Swami Ramdev Ji had shown interest in procuring the medicinal herbs available in the State for manufacturing ayurvedic medicines in the centre of the peeth.
He said that this would promote diversification of agricultural activities in Himachal Pradesh besides generating employment and self-employment avenues to the unemployed youth of the State in addition to providing remunerative prices to the farmers for their herbal produce.
He further stated that with the setting up of a centre of Patanjali Yog Peeth in Himachal Pradesh, Ayurveda and yoga education would get impetus and added that discussions were being held regarding imparting yoga education to doctors and teachers of the State. It would also promote tourism activities in the State, he added.
The team of State Government witnessed all the activities of the Peeth and shared their deliberations with the professionals of the Peeth.
Shri Nand Lal Sharma, Director, Ayurveda, Shri Rakesh Pandit, OSD Ayurveda, Acharya Shri Bal Krishan of Patanjali Yog Peeth were present in the high level meeting.
