An official Spokesman informed that the Government of Himachal Pradesh has issued final notification of Minimum Wages vide Notification No. Shram (A) 4-8-2006 (M.W.) dated 28.05.2006 vide this Notification the Minimum wages has been increased from Rs. 75/- per to Rs. 100 per day for unskilled workers in 11 scheduled employment under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948. He said that this increase of 33.33 % shall also be paid in proportionate to other categories of workers, like un-skilled, skilled and highly skilled and shall be applicable w.e.f. 01.01.2008. This notification published in the gazettee of Himachal Pradesh vide Publication No. 1044/gazettee/2008 dated 28.05.2008 on page no. 1205 to 1249, he informed.
He said that all the employers are requested to pay the wages to all categories of workers in accordance with the notification and also ensure to pay the arrear of enhanced wages for the period w.e.f. 01.01.2008 to 30.04.2008 immediately.
Copy of the above notification can be down loaded from the departmental website www.himachal.nic.in and website of Printing Press www.himachal.nic.in.gazettee.search, the spokesman informed.
He further stated that in case, there is any doubt to any employer or employee regarding revision of these Minimum Wages, they may contact in the office of Labour Commissioner on telephone Nos. 2625085, 2624157 and 2624305 and in the offices of Labour Officer and Labour Inspectors of the area concerned.
